YOUTH CAMP
10 Days of Faith, Friendship & Life Skills
For Students Grades 5-12
An annual overnight camp experience centered on faith, friendship, recreation, and practical life skills.
A Place to Grow, Connect & Belong
At Hortense Wesleyan Campmeeting, we believe some of life’s most meaningful lessons happen through faith, friendships, and shared experiences.
Our annual 10-day Youth Camp provides middle and high school students with an opportunity to step away from their everyday routines, build lasting friendships, grow spiritually, and develop practical skills for life.
Through Bible studies, recreational activities, and volunteer-led learning opportunities, we strive to create an encouraging Christian environment where young people can learn, participate, and grow.
Growing in Faith & Character
Faith is at the heart of Youth Camp.
Through Bible studies, Christian teaching, and fellowship, students are encouraged to deepen their understanding of Scripture while developing character, responsibility, kindness, and respect for others.
Our goal is to help students carry what they learn at camp into their everyday lives.
Learning Skills for Life
We believe preparing young people for the future involves more than classroom education. Each year, community volunteers share their knowledge, professional experience, and practical skills with our youth. These learning opportunities vary from year to year based on volunteer availability.
By bringing together volunteers with different backgrounds, we give students opportunities to learn from real-life experiences.
Building Friendships & Making Memories
Youth Camp is also about having fun and building meaningful relationships.
Students participate in indoor and outdoor games, group activities, fellowship, and seasonal recreation, which may include an inflatable water slide. Sometimes the simplest experiences create the most lasting memories.
The Overnight Camp Experience
Our Youth Camp welcomes students in grades 5–12 for an annual 10-day overnight experience. Separate boys’ and girls’ youth dormitories provide accommodations for students, with adult counselors and volunteers providing supervision. Living alongside fellow campers encourages friendship, independence, personal responsibility, and a sense of community.
